About GMC Athletic Stadium, Bambolim
The GMC Athletic Stadium at Bambolim is the state's track-and-field stadium, opened in 2014 for the Lusofonia Games and run by the Sports Authority of Goa. It has a synthetic athletics track around a football pitch and a single main stand of about 3,000 seats, and it sits beside Goa Medical College on the highway between Panaji and the Zuari bridge. Besides state and national athletics meets it has hosted professional football, including Indian Super League matches when the 2020–21 season was played entirely in Goa. School sports days, football tournaments and running events use it through the year. Its highway location makes it easy to reach by bus from Panaji, Margao and Vasco.
