Dance Events & Classes in Goa

Dance in Goa is tied to its festivals. The Shigmo parades in March bring out folk forms such as ghode modni, the horse dance, and processions of romtamel drummers and dancers. Carnival, from 6 to 9 February 2027, fills the streets of Panaji, Margao, Vasco and Mapusa with dance troupes and ends with the Red and Black dance in Panaji. At Christmas and New Year, clubs and hotels hold ticketed dances with live bands, a tradition that still packs village halls. Kala Academy runs the Nupur classical dance festival, held in March 2026 at the Mahalasa temple in Mardol. In Navratri, garba and dandiya nights are held in halls across the state. Studios and beach venues in Anjuna, Assagao and Arambol offer social dance and movement classes through the season.
