Things to do in Anjuna

Anjuna is where Goa's hippie trail settled in the 1960s, and it still trades on that history. The Wednesday flea market at the southern end of the beach, which began as a swap meet among travellers, is the best known of Goa's markets; confirm that it is running before you plan a day around it, as arrangements change from season to season. The village is spread across lanes between the Mapusa road and a rocky shore, with cafés, yoga shalas, tattoo studios, beach clubs and psytrance parties that now work under strict sound rules. Splashdown water park is on the Baga road. Buses run from Mapusa, about 8 km away.
