Things to do in Vagator & Chapora

Vagator is the northernmost beach of Bardez, a pair of coves under red laterite cliffs with Chapora Fort on the headland above. The fort's ramparts are the classic sunset climb, and Chapora village below has the fishing jetty and a street of juice bars. Vagator has been a home of Goa trance for decades: the HillTop grounds have hosted parties since the hippie years, Sunburn was held on the plateau until 2023, and clubs near Chapora jetty run psytrance nights. Roads are narrow and poorly lit, and after years of noise complaints outdoor music is expected to stop by 10 pm. Buses run from Mapusa.
