Things to do in Porvorim

Porvorim is the fast-growing town across the Mandovi bridges from Panaji, strung along NH 66 on the way to Mapusa. The Goa Legislative Assembly sits on its southern edge. For events, Mall de Goa has the multiplex and atrium activities, the Goa Cricket Association's Academy Ground hosts domestic cricket, the Xavier Centre of Historical Research runs lectures and exhibitions, and the Houses of Goa museum is in nearby Torda. The Carnival season has opened with a curtain-raiser parade here in recent years. Reis Magos Fort, on the river at Verem, is about 15 minutes away by road. Kadamba's Panaji–Mapusa shuttles stop along the highway.
