Things to do in Candolim & Sinquerim

Candolim is the calmer southern end of the Calangute beach strip, a long road of restaurants, bars and hotels running down to Sinquerim and Fort Aguada. The 17th-century fort and its lighthouse stand on the headland; below them, the old Aguada jail has been restored as a museum and events space on the Mandovi. Candolim hosted the first Sunburn festivals from 2007. Today its nights are mostly about live bands at restaurants, with a few larger clubs nearby. It is the closest of the Bardez beaches to Panaji, about 13 km via Betim, and buses on the Panaji–Calangute route run along the main road.
