Things to do in Calangute

Calangute is the busiest beach in Goa and the centre of the Bardez resort strip, with Candolim to its south and Baga to its north. The road from St Alex Church to the sea is lined with hotels, restaurants and shops, and in season the sand carries a row of licensed shacks, water-sports operators and lifeguard towers. Events here are mostly hotel and restaurant affairs: live bands, karaoke, Christmas dances and New Year's Eve dinners. Expect heavy traffic and scarce parking from mid-December to early January. Buses run from Mapusa, about 8 km away, and from Panaji via Betim, about 15 km.
