Things to do in Mapusa

Mapusa is North Goa's market town and the transport hub for the beach belt. Its municipal market is busy all week and overflows on Fridays, when growers and vendors from across Bardez sell produce, chouriço, dried fish, pottery and spices. The Bodgeshwar temple's zatra turns the fields at the town's edge into a fair that lasts for days each winter, the Milagres feast follows after Easter, and Carnival and Shigmo parades come through in season. Hanuman Natyagriha is the town's theatre. Buses from the Kadamba stand fan out to Calangute, Anjuna, Vagator, Siolim and Arambol, and Panaji shuttles leave every few minutes.
