Things to do in Campal

Campal, the riverside stretch west of Panaji's centre, is home to Goa's big arts institutions. Kala Academy, the Charles Correa-designed state arts complex, stands on the Mandovi bank; its main auditorium was due to close for repairs from August 2026, so check what is open. A short walk east, the Entertainment Society of Goa's campus at the Old Goa Medical College building, with Maquinez Palace and INOX Panaji, is the headquarters of IFFI every November. The Campal grounds, the Art Park and the promenade take stages, exhibitions and food stalls during IFFI and Serendipity. Parking fills early on festival evenings, so walk from the centre or take a city bus.
