Weekend tips
- Choose a side. North Goa (Panaji, Mapusa and the beaches up to Arambol) and South Goa (Margao to Palolem) are each a full weekend. Crossing between them takes one and a half to two hours.
- Music stops early outdoors. Amplified sound in the open has to end at 10 pm. Late nights are in enclosed clubs.
- Check that seasonal places are open. Shacks and beach venues reopen gradually from October. Clubs were audited after the Arpora fire of December 2025 and several were shut.
- Book transport for the way back. Buses stop in the early evening, and taxis are hard to find after midnight outside the main strips.
- Mondays are the closed day for the Museum of Goa, the Naval Aviation Museum and Bondla zoo.
Whatever you pick, the live list of events for Saturday and Sunday is on this weekend in Goa, and zero-rupee plans are in our guide to free things to do in Goa.
