New Year's Eve 2026 falls on a Thursday, and Goa will be full from Christmas weekend onwards. The first thing to know is that Sunburn is not here: its 2026 festival is on 18 and 19 December in Mumbai. Goa's night is a patchwork of hotel galas, beach-club parties, club nights and private villa events. Confirmed so far are an Anjunadeep Open Air at Thalassa Beach Boutique Resort in Ashwem on 31 December and psytrance and club nights around Vagator and Chapora, with more announced through November. Hotels across Candolim, Bambolim, Cavelossim and Varca sell gala dinners with a band and dance floor, and the casino ships on the Mandovi run New Year packages at well above their usual ₹4,000 to ₹6,000. Two rules shape the night. Amplified music in the open must stop at 10 pm unless a venue holds a specific permission, so late parties are indoors; and after the Arpora nightclub fire of December 2025, fireworks and pyrotechnics were banned inside clubs, bars, restaurants and shacks. Good to know

Choose a party near where you are staying. On 31 December the Calangute–Baga and Anjuna–Vagator roads are jammed from early evening and taxis are scarce after midnight.
Book only through the venue or a known ticketing platform. Fake New Year passes are sold on social media every year.
Check that the venue is licensed and has clear exits. After the December 2025 fire, several clubs were sealed for lacking fire clearance.
Carry original photo ID. Clubs enforce 18+ or 21+ entry, and casinos are strictly 21+.
Do not ride or drive after drinking. Police run checkposts through the night on all main roads.
Beach fireworks at midnight are a tradition, but the Supreme Court limits New Year fireworks to 11:55 pm to 12:30 am.
